A Moment of Kindness

Diane Faxon was diagnosed with breast cancer in mid-February of this year. She wanted to dye her hair pink to celebrate the completion of her radiation therapy and enjoy her new look before starting chemotherapy. Due to a very tight budget, Diane’s daughter, Melissa Brooks, reached out to local hair stylists to see if anyone would consider donating some of their time and services to help off-set the cost. Within moments, Lindsey Grant at Modesty Hair Studio replied that she would be happy to do it for free. Wanting to shine the spotlight on Lindsey’s generosity, Melissa Brooks contacted KUT. "I just wanted to bring her into the spotlight for her act of kindness," said Melissa. "In times such as these, every little thing helps to keep us going and stay positive for this long fight. I am so touched by Lindsey’s selflessness." Diane is currently undergoing chemotherapy. We at KUT were delighted to be a part of this "Moment of Kindness" here in Austin, and want to wish Diane all the best.
